Ventilatory polygraphy

Along with polysomnography, ventilatory polygraphy is one of the tools used to support a diagnosis of sleep apnea syndrome in a patient. Ventilatory polygraphy involves recording the electrocardiogram and nocturnal breathing (respiratory movements and flow of air in and out of the nostrils) for at least 6 hours. A sensor is placed on a finger to detect drops in blood oxygen saturation during apneas and hypopneas.[1]
