Respiratory Rate (RR)

In the context of normal breathing, Respiratory Rate (RR) refers to the number of inspiration/expiration cycles a person undergoes in one minute. In the context of mechanical respiratory assistance, RR measures the number of times tidal volume (VT) is insufflated each minute.[1]
